First, understand what a Skill is: it is a capability enhancement for a specific task that makes AI more professional in certain scenarios. Beginners can browse the Skill store and choose by category.

Have the Agent install it itself: send it the installation guide link. Codex will install it to .agents/skills/, and Claude Code will install it to .claude/skills/. Then ask it to verify whether the installation succeeded.

- 3
You can also install it from the command line. Someone ran npx skills add typesafe-ai/skills --skill typesafe-ai in Codex. This example also requires creating a separate API Key.

- 4
How to use it after installation: in your prompt, simply say use the TypeSafe skill, or, as Hypit does, use a slash command with your requirement to have Codex recreate a viral video.

- 5
You can also install it from community platforms. The Red Skill button at the end of a Xiaohongshu note lets you view details and copy the download address, then paste it into your own Agent to complete the installation.

Don't install too many. Baoyu mentioned that Skills like ELI5 are actually just a single prompt, so there's no need to install them if you don't use them often. OpenAI also reminds users to clean up redundant and conflicting Skills.
